Staying Home
I wrote a “song” about why I’ll never make a Country Music star.
There are many reasons, but one is; I’m too happy. The song is entitled, “My Lovely Homely Wife”. The “homely” part means she’s always home. She hasn’t left me so I don’t have a “she’s gone song.”
We’re both home a lot now. Traveling is expensive. We like to spend our money on Sunday Dinners for the family. Staying home is not that bad. We’re “stuck” here in climate friendly weather, and the beautiful Tennessee River. Sunrises and sunsets on Pickwick Lake can compete worldwide.
It doesn’t get any better than “right cheer”. I’ve seen the ice cap, Niagara, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and Lakeshore drive in Chi-town. I will admit that Margie hasn’t gotten over the Waikiki sunset yet.
We offer lifestyles that rival any city. If you’re into sinning, we have variety. If you want to gamble, you can buy a lottery tickets. If you want to drink, we’ve got bars, joints, etc. (These weren’t my ideas) “What happens in Savannah stays in Savannah” for the most part. Other places are not interested anyway.
Tennessee has newspapers, yard sales, beautiful scenery, polite, friendly folks and a few grouches. What more could you want? If you’re interested in a place even better than this, it can be arranged. We have Bible-believing churches that will put you on the Right road.
The Apostle Paul said he’d learned that in whatsoever “state” he was in to be content. I like my state.
Tennessee contentment doesn’t need to travel.
