Seed, Time, Harvest

Gardening is not one of my strong suits. My Dad has always been great about helping me with things, and he helps me with this. We planted my garden a few weeks back. We gave the garden everything that it needed, and then some. We really "babied them", so to speak. I wasn't giving the squash much hope, as they were only seeds. I checked on them everyday for a week, and nothing. But, after a week, something starting poking through the ground. I actually got really excited!! This got me to thinking. This is a lot like our own lives. We plant good things into our lives, but don't see the fruit right away. But something is happening deep down that we can't see. Then, all of a sudden something begins to happen. I can see why so many pastors use this as an illustration in their sermons. I've heard this all my life, but haven't got it until now. Sometimes it takes a "hands on" experience to make something become real. I finally understand what seed, time, and harvest means!
