While working today, I found this. One of our facilitators uses to explain forgiveness.....Thought it was the best I've ever heard.
1. Don't tell anyone about what they did to you.
2. You want them to feel loved, not afraid of you..perfect love casts out fear...set them free...put them at ease and you will be free also.
3. Don't send them on a guilt trip. It takes a little grace to forgive when they ask you to forgive them...but it takes a lot of grace to forgive when they don't ask for forgiveness.
4. Let them say face, protect them. God does us!
5. Protect them from their darkest secret.
6. Forgive over and over..it's a lifetime commitment...don't pray for God to help them...pray for God to bless them.
