Commitment

Well, today is my Mom and Dad's anniversary. But it's not just any ordinary anniversary. My parents have been married for 42 years. That is one big accomplishment, especially in the day we live in. What I remember in all the years growing, is divorce was not an option. Sure, they fought; sure they got mad and wouldn't talk some; but the most profound thing I remember is everything was worked out, and we went on with life. All was forgiven and forgotten. Through the years, I've seen my parents get closer, and happier. (Probably because we all moved out. ha!) But I guess I've noticed it more lately. So many people are unhappy in their relationships. But, I truly believe that without laughter and forgiveness, there can't be a good marriage. I now find myself in a very stressful situation finding something funny and making everyone laugh. It definitely releases tension and it makes things a little more bearable.

Thanks Mom and Dad for your faithfulness to each other and to God. You have instilled many good things in this daughter. I am eternally grateful
